Scheduled. Focused. Never Rushed.
We operate on a schedule and expect teamwork from our clients to stay on schedule. Thanks to great clients willing to work according to our service-window system, we are able to focus our time and energy on what matters most depending on the time of year. Sometimes that’s proactive tax planning, other times that’s simply preparing and filing accurate tax returns. It is our goal to forever eliminate last-minute rushes from our shared experience, simultaneously improving our ability to proactively plan and advise our clients.
How to choose a tax return filing window:
1) Know yourself - are you organized with your tax documents or do you like waiting until the summer to get started?
2) Know your tax documents - is all your information available in January or do you have K-1s or 1099s arriving late?
3) Know your tax liability - do you always get a refund or always owe?
4) Work with us during ServWindow 4 to talk through how we can deliver maximum value.

Tax Planning Season (Oct 15 - Dec 31)
What we do: Client meetings, tax planning, and financial collaboration
Plan for tax season - identify tax savings opportunities, discuss year-to-year changes, and identify tax preparation work that can be done before tax filing season
Collaborate on tax and financial goals during the annual check-in meeting to help us make sure you are on the right tax and financial path
Tax Filing Season (Jan 1 - Apr 15)
What we do: Tax return preparation and filing only
No client meetings - by scheduling client meetings to occur before Tax Filing Season, we can:
Identify tax savings opportunities proactively and before it’s too late
Identify potential issues well ahead of tax filing and payment deadlines
Remain laser-focused on completing returns accurately during Tax Filing Season, our busiest time of year
Other Key Dates
Feb 1 - Cutoff date for tax document upload to have tax return completed by Apr 15
Note - All clients uploading a final tax document after Feb 1 will receive an automatic extension of time to file until October 15. Clients who would like assistance with calculating their tax due by April 15 must work with us during Tax Planning Season. We recognize some tax forms (such as 1099s and k-1s) will not be available by Feb 1. If all other information has been uploaded by Feb 1, we may still finish the tax return by Apr 15, but it is not guaranteed.
